Ideal Home Show Boasts Record Attendances

Media 10’s Ideal Home Show has seen opening day visitor numbers surpass 2019 levels, in a major boost for the event and the consumer exhibitions sector.
Now in its 115th year, the 2023 edition has been boosted by headline partner Sky Glass and its continued partnership with ITV. The opening day ribbon cutting and event walk-through on 17 March was covered live on ITV’s ‘This Morning’.
Media 10 Group marketing director Rob Nathan said: “We have been blown away by the way in which the show has begun. Not only were visitor numbers up on 2022 by 23% they were ahead of 2019 by 15%, which shows that confidence has truly returned.
“Even with train strikes, torrential rain and the cost-of-living crisis it demonstrates that the public want to attend events and still love a good day out.
“Exhibitors were asking for help with extra staffing to cope with enquiries which was a nice challenge to help with. The world’s oldest exhibition keeps rolling on.”
Calum Hutchinson, CEO of first-time exhibitor Leaf commented on its participation in the new ‘Spring Clean’ section of the show. “As a young sustainable-focused start-up, we hoped The Ideal Home Show would give us a good platform to reach new customers. The show has completely blown our expectations and we are seeing a lot of love for our products. We’ll be back.”
The event was opened by celebrities Martin Lewis, Phil Spencer, Scarlette Douglas, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and David Domoney and runs until 2 April at Olympia.
